Celebrate Thanksgiving by Thanking Your Rescue Dogs BC

July 16, 2018

Is your dog your proudest conversation piece? Can you remember their cutest moments, their heroic feats, and funny gestures? Then #DogThanking is for you! Everyone speaks too much about their loved ones, everyone lol. And that’s not a bad thing. I love hearing about other people who love their dogs and how their dogs have changed their lives for the better. This especially rings true with me when it’s a Canadian dog breeds or a rescue dogs bc. When someone goes through foster care bc and saves an animal that was destined for a hard life, takes that animal out of the shelter dogs bc system and gives them a forever home, I always appreciate the story of how it all happened! It’s easy to thank your pup when he comes into your life because even if he needs a lot of work to recover from a charred past or has behaviour issues, it’s so nice and sweet to get him back to as close to 100% with your effort and kindness.  When they start to come around you can know its because they feel safe in the environment you’re providing and that is a very special, and rewarding feeling. Well done. Be sure to thank your dog for the love that they are beginning to show you, for you, that means the bond is getting stronger and their walls of self protection are starting to come down, it means they trust you. Dogs that come out of foster care bc who are dogs for adoption bc can many times have deep rooted behaviour problems that stem from an abusive past, malnourishment and fear. Please allow them many months to break free from those past psychological chains and allow them to reclaim their future as their own, it will be totally worth it as they do!

This Thanksgiving, take some time out to give thanks to your best pal, all while helping other pets who may not be as lucky as yours. Please share some of your favorite stories with us. We are all for giving thanks to our dog friends, and making their lives a better place. But you’ve got to hurry! The #DogThanking phenomenon only lasts for a brief period! Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, and I always like to appreciate and show gratitude to the loved ones in my life, my family and especially my pets. The pets always stick by me. From when I had that small tiny bachelor pad and the cats couldn’t even go outside because we were on the 3rd floor. They tolerated it and put up with the cramped living situation while showing me love daily. What wonderful creatures animals are.

Although dogs may or may not have a concept of Thanksgiving, try to communicate it as best you can. I’m sure they will understand that you love them very much. Also check out our dog clothes Canada that all help rescue dogs bc. We send meals of dog food to partner programs like the VHS or SPCA and dog apparel Canada that help dogs for adoption bc by feeding them!
